"We provided distance education for the first time regarding master teacher training"

Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said that as the Ministry, they implemented many regulations and projects in the last 3 years to strengthen vocational education.

Pointing out that they are making intensive efforts to strengthen the vocational education centers, Özer reminded that they first made improvements by establishing a flexible structure in order for the graduates of the vocational education center to obtain a high school diploma.

Emphasizing that the number of students enrolled in vocational training centers increased by 62 percent after this improvement, Özer continued as follows:

“Vocational training in vocational training centers is given in enterprises 4 days a week. Students only come to school for one day. Therefore, it is an education carried out with businesses. One of the biggest difficulties in this regard was that there were not enough master trainers in the enterprises. This situation limited the number of students who could continue vocational education. In order to increase the number of master tutorials, we first made an improvement in master trainer training. For the first time, we provided the opportunity of distance education regarding master trainer training. These trainings are currently continuing successfully. In addition, with the amendment made in the Regulation on Secondary Education Institutions, we increased the number of students per master teacher. In this context, we made a change to assign at least one master instructor for 12 students instead of 40. Thus, more students will be able to receive skill training in enterprises that are a master instructor. "
