EGO General Directorate Ankara Metro has updated its new signaling system in order to provide a safe, comfortable and faster travel service.

Switching from V4 software system to V6 software system, EGO General Directorate successfully completed the software by making test drives on the "M1, M2, M3-OSB / Törekent-Koru Metro" line in the first place.

NEW SOFTWARE IS STARTED

Emin Güre, Deputy General Manager of EGO, Ayten Gök, Head of Corporate Development Department, Serdar Yeşilyurt, Head of the Transportation Planning and Rail System Department, and Yurtalp Erdoğdu, Ankara Metro Operation Branch Manager, examined the new software system that was started to be used in these lines at the Ankara Metro Operation Control Center.

With the introduction of the "Signalization System Transformation" program software, safe driving on the "M1, M2, M3-OSB / Törekent-Koru Metro" line was ensured, while the commercial speed increased from 70 kilometers per hour to 80 kilometers per hour thanks to the latest version of the signaling system.

PRIORITY PASSENGER SAFETY

EGO Deputy General Manager Emin Güre, who said that they started the first test drives in December 2020 and implemented the new software system after the deficiencies were completed, gave the following information:

“We did our test drives while there were no passengers on the curfews. We made the transition to the V8 software system on February 2021, 6. Passenger safety is important to us, and citizens can travel safely. In this sense, we were very sensitive. After making sure of these tests, we switched to this system. With this system, OSB Törekent and Koru Metro stations M1, M2 and M3 lines were transferred to the new software system. This system is known as the top version. Speed increase means we will tighten our trip numbers. It also provides driving safety and some energy savings. ”

Emphasizing that the time loss of 5-6 seconds related to the software has been eliminated and the number of trips will thus increase, Güre announced that they will also activate the new software in the M1 Keçiören Metro in about 4 month:

“When we look at the feedbacks of the metro drivers, it was seen that both the driving comfort increased, a more comfortable ride was achieved and the malfunctions decreased. We continue to work on our Keçiören M4 line. We are planning to switch the M1 line to the V4 system within 6 month. In particular, we see that there are no pauses of 5-6 seconds previously experienced during stop-and-go. In this process, our friends have made great efforts. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we did not have any costs, no money came out of our safe. This enabled us to contribute to savings. With all these works, the latest version of the signaling system will be activated in our 4 Metro lines. "

VATMAN IS SATISFIED WITH THE SYSTEM

Mülayim Gökmen, who has been working as a manager in the metro for 25 years, expressed his experiences about the software as follows:

“The new software system is more advanced than the old system. It provides faster mobility in stops and take-offs at stations. We started to use a software system that will make it easier for passengers to travel more comfortably and safely. "
