The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey, General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ) announced the airline plane, passenger and freight statistics for March 2021.
Passengers met with the comfort of the airline at our environmentally and passenger-friendly airports, where all necessary measures were taken for the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic.
In March, when the number of aircraft landing and taking off at our airports reached 51.076 in domestic lines and 22.537 in international flights, a total of 89.680 aircraft traffic was realized with overpasses.
This month, Turkey serving domestic airports in overall traffic of 4.561.895 passengers, international passenger traffic was 2.489.609. In this month, a total of 7.057.896 passengers were served, including direct transit passengers.
Airport freight (cargo, mail and baggage) traffic; In March, it was 43.848 tons on domestic lines, 183.384 tons on international lines, and 227.232 tons in total.
2.212.670 PASSENGERS WERE SERVED AT ISTANBUL AIRPORT IN MARCH
Aircraft traffic landing and taking off at Istanbul Airport in March reached 4.741 in total, 12.721 on domestic lines and 17.462 on international lines.
This airport served a total of 561.980 passengers in March, 1.650.690 on domestic flights and 2.212.670 on international flights.
There was 3.402 aircraft traffic in March at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, where general aviation activities and cargo transportation continue.
Thus, a total of 20.864 aircraft traffic was realized at these two airports.
APPROXIMATELY 18 MILLION PASSENGERS WERE SERVED IN THREE MONTHS
According to the quarterly realizations (January-February-March); Aircraft traffic landing and taking off at airports was 136.825 in domestic lines and 59.236 in international flights. Thus, a total of 238.448 aircraft traffic was realized, including overpasses.
Domestic passenger traffic in airports across Turkey of 11.650.240 of the 6.016.365 international passengers traffic in this period were given a total of 17.677.767 passengers with direct transit passengers.
During the period in question, the freight (cargo, post and baggage) traffic of the airports; 118.865 tons in domestic lines and 481.568 tons in international lines.
There were 46.427 aircraft and 5.542.158 passenger traffic at Istanbul Airport in three months. In the same period, there was a traffic of 9.080 aircraft at Istanbul Atatürk Airport. Thus, a total of 55.507 aircraft traffic was realized at these two airports in the same period.
