Ares Shipyard Unmanned Systems Project Manager Onur Yıldırım shared new information about ULAQ. A presentation about ULAQ SİDA was made at the event organized by the Marine Research and Development Volunteers Culture and Art Student Community on April 25, 2021. Ares Shipyard Unmanned Systems Project Manager Onur Yıldırım shared new information about ULAQ in his presentation “Ares Shipyard and Armed Unmanned Marine Vehicle ULAQ”.

In his presentation on ULAQ, Onur Yıldırım stated that the prototype platform of ULAQ series Unmanned Marine Vehicles, SİDA, will be tested in May 2021. ULAQ SİDA, the first armed unmanned sea vehicle of our country, was launched in January 2021 and its experience cruises began. Among the information in the presentation, it was stated that the ULAQ's hull structure was designed with a suitable infrastructure that can withstand speeds of up to 70 knots.

SİDA, which has a cruising range of 800 kilometers, a speed of 129 kilometers per hour, day / night vision capability, national encrypted communication infrastructure and manufactured from advanced composite material; In the performance of tasks such as Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Surface Warfare (CPS), Asymmetric Warfare, Armed Escort and Force Protection, Strategic Facility Security; It can be used on land by mobile vehicles and from the headquarters command center or floating platforms. In addition, SİDA will have a long communication range thanks to its satellite communication (SATCOM) feature.

ULAQ Series Unmanned Marine Vehicles

The Armed Unmanned Marine Vehicle ULAQ has a length of 11 meters and a width of 2,70 meters. In addition, SİDA, which has 6 tons of displacement, carries 2 tons of payload. The Armed Unmanned Marine Vehicle ULAQ was equipped with a 4-pod, 2,75 ″ Laser Guided Missile CİRİT and a Laser Guided Long Range Anti-Tank Missile System (L-UMTAS) with a double launcher, which are products of the national missile systems manufacturer Roketsan. Unmanned Systems Project Manager Onur Yıldırım stated in his presentation that the platform in question has an infrastructure suitable for the integration of other weapons such as SUNGUR and STAMP.

The ULAQ series consists of six vehicles. In the series; Armed Unmanned Marine Vehicle (SİDA), Intelligence Reconnaissance and Surveillance Electronic Warfare Vehicle (ISR & EW), Surface Fighting Vehicle (ASuW - G / M), Mine Countermeasure Vehicle (MCMV), Fire Fighting Vehicle (FiFi) and Submarine Defense War. There is an intermediary (ASW).

Ares Shipyard Unmanned Systems Project Manager Onur Yıldırım stated that the Electronic Warfare Vehicle (ISR & EW), which is capable of Intelligence Reconnaissance and Surveillance in the ULAQ series, is on the agenda, although it is not clear. He also added that in the release in question there will be electronic mixing. The version in question is planned to be released onto water over nationally produced TF-2000 frigates.

Onur Yıldırım said that there is interest from different countries for ULAQ and visits to Ares Shipyard have been made. He also stated that SİDA, the prototype platform of the ULAQ series Unmanned Marine Vehicles, has an 86 percent domestic rate. He added that there are radar absorbent paint works for ULAQ. It was also mentioned in the presentation that ULAQ series vehicles can work together with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). He also stated that their agenda is the integration of guided rockets such as TRLG230 instead of Atmaca on larger unmanned sea platforms.

Ares Shipyard Unmanned Systems Project Manager Onur Yıldırım said, "We will soon reach the capability to produce ships in the 90m class." he concluded his presentation.
