CHP Deputy Chairman Ahmet Akın stated that both ministries do not own the extraordinary additional cost increases in the Kurtköy-Akyazı and Kınalı-Odayeri sections of the Northern Marmara Motorway. Akın said, “Neither the Ministry of Treasury nor the Ministry of Transport can say a word about the record increase. Why can't they give you an account? If the additional cost increase exceeds 50 percent, there is a clear rent. "The total amount of the additional cost increase reaches 17 billion 830 million TL according to the current exchange rate."
According to the news of Erdem Sevgi from Cumhuriyet; “Akin, CHP, reminded that a maximum increase of 20 percent in highway construction projects is considered normal, and that the cost increases above this rate should be justified. Akın asked questions to both the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, which signed the debt assumption agreement, and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, which awarded the project, regarding the record-breaking additional cost increase of billions of dollars. Both ministries did not embrace the increase in costs in their response.
'HONEY GUARANTEE'
Evaluating the responses, Akın said, “The additional cost increases in both parts of the Northern Marmara Motorway exceed half of the total cost. The additional cost means that the duration and cost of the honey and creamy guarantees of the proponents also increase. The total amount of the additional cost increase of 2 billion 186 million dollars 895 thousand dollars reaches 17 billion 830 million TL according to the current exchange rate. While the total amount of support given to tradesmen is not even 5 billion TL, the supporters are provided almost four times this amount in one item ”.
