The Transportation Officer-Sen Board of Presidents convened an extraordinary meeting regarding the restructuring process of the railways included in the 2021 Presidential Annual Program.

The Presidents Board, which issued a declaration regarding the allegations of privatization of the railways and the forced retirement of the civil servants or transferring them to the pool system, included the statements that "No personnel should be forced to sign a job contract, go to the pool or change their place against their will."

The Transportation Officer-Sen Board of Presidents convened an extraordinary meeting regarding the restructuring process of the railways included in the 2021 Presidential Annual Program. At the meeting, it was emphasized that the restructuring process of the railways should be carried out in a transparent and open manner, and the decisions taken at the meeting were announced as declaration and emergency action plan.

UNIONS AND NGOs WERE NOT INTERVIEWED DURING THE STRUCTURING PROCESS

In the declaration, it was underlined that the restructuring process was carried out without consultation with trade unions and NGOs, causing serious disturbance to the staff. In addition, it was emphasized that the allegations that the railways were privatized and the civil servants were forced to retire or transferred to the pool system would cause the business peace in the institution to be disrupted. In the statement made, it was stated that the employees in the railways will not compromise their vested rights such as job security, status law, protection of the civil service regime, and the employees were worried.

Transport Officer-Sen stated that the draft regarding the restructuring process of the railways should be shared with them as soon as possible, and listed what needs to be done as follows:

1- Configuration process; It should be realized by taking the contributions and suggestions of Trade Unions, Non-Governmental Organizations and all Social stakeholders.

2- We express that we will support a study that will contribute to the development and strengthening of the railways and to be carried out with common mind and consultation.

3- There are SEEs that employ 399 employees and make significant profits. (TEİAŞ, Eti Maden, DHMİ etc.) Personnel employment subject to 399; It does not hinder competitive policies, making profits, keeping up with the times and restructuring.

4- The railway restructuring process will be closely monitored by our Union and all non-governmental organizations will act in this regard.

  1. It should not make tcdd out of reach. It should not upset the trained personnel. It should be decided together with tcdd associations and unions. Railways are not like any other institution. Employees should definitely be happy with the change. Torpilli should not cut dry to find seats for people. Top manager should not come from outside.
