CHP Niğde Deputy Ömer Fethi Gürer brought the signalless railway lines, which invite fatal accidents, to the agenda of the Assembly with a parliamentary question.

Answering the motion of Gürer, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu announced that it is planned to activate the signaling system on the 2021-kilometer line in 1030.

The proposer, Gürer, reminded the train accident that caused the death of 2018 people on the High Speed ​​Train line opened in Ankara Yenimahalle in 9 without the establishment of the signaling system, and said to the Ministry of Transport, which is trying to increase the signaling systems on the train routes after this date, "Aren't you a little late?" directed his question.

TRAIN ACCIDENTS ON UNSIGNALIZED LINES 

Republican People's Party (CHP) Niğde Deputy Ömer Fethi Gürer gave a written parliamentary question to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure in order to draw attention to the train accidents occurring on the railway routes without a signalization system.

Gürer asked the following questions to be answered in the written motion he gave to be answered by the Minister Karaismailoğlu:

"Turkey State Railways network line length and line length 12.639 4.896 signaling that the circuit is 4 kilometers. Based on the last XNUMX years, how many kilometers is the length of the line where the signaling is taken into operation separately according to years?

The length of the signaling line under construction is 2.388 kilometers and it is stated in the Court of Accounts reports that it was built by 4 different companies and that 4896 km of the existing 4893 km signaling line section was carried out by contractor or subcontractor foreign companies, and the remaining 3 km line section was carried out by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM. The fact that the signalization systems have different software and hardware causes some difficulties in terms of train operation and negatively affects operating costs. For this reason, is there a study conducted by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM to localize the systems and reduce the variety of software / hardware of the signaling systems under construction?

What is the length of the line with which signaling is aimed to be activated in 2021? "

 

THERE IS SIGNALING AT 53 PERCENT OF THE LINE LENGTH

Responding to the motion of CHP Niğde Deputy Ömer Fethi Gürer, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that they have accelerated the signal line construction works in recent years, stating that the signal line length has reached 6 thousand 828 kilometers, emphasizing that this length corresponds to 53 percent of the total line length. .

SIGNALING SYSTEM WILL BE ESTABLISHED ON 1030 METERS LINE THIS YEAR 

Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “Signalization works are continuing on the 1.394 km line, and the project and tender preparation works are continuing in the 2.729 km section. In 2021; It is planned to activate the signaling on a total of 1030 km line, ”he said.

NATIONAL SIGNAL SYSTEM 

Stating that since 2016, all main line sections have been designed and tendered with the national signal system, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “Currently, the construction of the national signalization system on the line of approximately 750 km is continuing. In addition, the projection of approximately 1.000 km main line sections is made according to the national signal system ”

GÜRER REMINDS THE ACCIDENT OF YENİMAHALLE 

On the other hand, CHP Niğde Deputy Ömer Fethi Gürer stated that 2018 people lost their lives in an accident that took place in 9 at Marşandiz Station in Ankara's Yenimahalle district, as a result of a guide train colliding with a high-speed train going from the capital to Konya on the same route. Reminding that he was injured, he stated that the accident occurred because the line where the accident occurred was opened to transportation without a signaling system.

WHY ARE YOU LATE?

Pointing out that the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure's efforts to establish a signaling system after the accident have increased, Gürer said, “If the signaling system had been built before the accident, perhaps 9 people who lost their lives in that accident would be alive today. The Ministry of Transport took action after the disaster occurred. My question to the Minister is as follows; Aren't you a little late? ”he said.
