Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu met with the members of the TBMM Public Works, Reconstruction, Transportation and Tourism Commission at a breakfast meeting and listened to the opinions and suggestions of the commission members. Listening to the suggestions and evaluations of the commission members, Minister Karaismailoğlu said that from completed and ongoing investments to build-operate-transfer projects; answered the questions of the commission members in every field from transportation to communication to information and space technologies.

"We focused on railway investments"

Starting his speech by thanking the commission members for their participation, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that they gathered today to consult and exchange views with the members of the commission.

Speaking after the presentation of the projects and investments of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that the investments were predominant on highways until 2020, and stated that they made an intense effort in highways investments, but they focused on railway investments in recent years.

Karasiamiloğlu continued his speech as follows: “Highways investments and railways investment rates were at a par. In investments, the railway will go up a little further and the highway will go down a little further. But our highway investments, especially in Anatolia, will continue. We will continue our investments by keeping them in balance. Since railway investments are both costly and time consuming, the projects need to be spread over time. "

"We will connect the Industrial Zones and Iron Ports to Railway networks and reduce the logistics costs of the manufacturer"

Stating that they will open the Ankara-Sivas line in the summer, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “We will connect Konya to Karaman again. On the other hand, efforts are underway to connect Bursa to the Ankara-Istanbul line. Infrastructure works continue between Mersin and Gaziantep. We also made the superstructure tender. When we complete the line connecting Konya to Mersin, we will expand our railways network. We have important work on load lines. We aim to reduce the logistics costs of the producers by connecting the Industrial Zones and Iron Ports to railway networks. We created our infrastructure in airlines. "

"18% of the investments made are build-operate and 82% of the investments are made with the budget"

Underlining that 18 percent of the investments made are made with the build-operate model and 82 percent are made with the budget, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “It is not possible to realize all projects at once. Our friends are doing feasibility studies. We continue our work in every corner of our country from all four branches. We are trying our best to provide the best service to the citizen.
