İzmir Metropolitan Municipality continues its works within the scope of preserving natural resources in the best way and transferring them to future generations. In line with its goal of Swimmable Bay, it started an important study for collecting marine wastes with an integrated management approach. A tender was held on March 18, 2021 for the collection of wastes belonging to all kinds of domestic and foreign flagged marine vessels in the maritime and land jurisdictions under the responsibility of the Metropolitan Municipality, and the establishment and operation of a waste reception facility. At the end of the tender, İZDOĞA A.Ş., an affiliate of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. and İZBETON A.Ş. Within the scope of the works that will begin after the contract with the Contractor, wastes from the port, pier, dock, marina, buoy, shipyard, anchorage areas, fishermen's shelters will be collected from the land and sea, and the entire process until the disposal and recovery of the collected wastes will be carried out. . Work will begin on the establishment of a waste reception facility.
