Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu responded to the parliamentary question submitted by CHP Party Assembly Member and Kocaeli Deputy Tahsin Tarhan regarding High Speed Train Projects. Ministers Karaismailoğlu that the relevant date with the high-speed train projects across Turkey, Gebze Darıca Metro also gave the opening date of 2023.

Making a statement regarding the answer given to the motion, CHP Party Assembly Member and Kocaeli Deputy Tahsin Tarhan said:

Gebze Metro Will Be Opened In 2023!

Tarhan; “The Ministry announced that Konya-Karaman High Speed Train Project, which should be completed in 2018, will be put into service in May and Gebze-Darıca Metro Line will be put into service at the end of 2023. Many times, dates were given and these projects were not finished. It is a mystery that these projects will be put into service on the mentioned date. They keep people busy with the promise of cheap and safe transportation. "If there is an area to earn a rent, they will finish it immediately, but they constantly postpone the jobs that will benefit the public," he said.

Tarhan continued his words as follows: “We cannot get healthy answers to the questions we have submitted recently. We asked the reason for the cost differences of High Speed Train Projects, but the Ministry did not even answer. They answer the questions selectively, and the answers they give are not the answer to the question asked. This understanding should be abandoned as soon as possible. "It is our duty to inform the public properly," he said.

The Ministry Does Not Know When The High Speed Train Projects!

Tarhan; “In the answer to the question we gave to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure regarding High Speed Train Projects under construction for many years, the Ministry did not give any information about when the projects will be completed. The Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Project, which is expected to be completed in 2012, and the Bursa-Osmaneli High Speed Train Project, which is expected to be completed in 2016, are still not completed. Although it has been a long time since the deadline they gave for the completion, it is still not put into service.

The Ministry, in its response to the parliamentary question, explained the details such as the lengths of these projects and how many bridges they have, but did not answer the questions in the motion. In the reply, there is no information as to why these projects are not finished or when they will be finished. We cannot get clear answers to the questions we ask. It is unclear when these projects will be completed and put into service! " said.
