Number of BİSİM Stations reached 55

Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç SoyerIn Güzelbahçe, Uğur Mumcu Monument, Ahmet Piriştina Recreation Area and Bisim stations placed in Güzelbahçe Harbor were inaugurated. Stating that 55 stations have been reached with the points put into service, Mayor Soyer said, “Our main goal is to ensure that the use of bicycles for transportation purposes becomes widespread throughout İzmir.”

BISIM, the “smart bike rental system” of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, increased the number of stations to 55. We will continue to take steps one by one to strengthen the bicycle infrastructure throughout İzmir, to increase rural bicycle routes, and to create a bicycle culture in our city.”

Good news for children: 120 kids bikes are coming

Stating that visually impaired people can also use bicycles thanks to tandem bicycles, President Soyer said:
"Children's bikes we achieved a first in Turkey, I would like to herald our work. On April 23, National Sovereignty and Children's Day, we will add 120 children's bicycles to the BİSİM fleet and put them into the use of children from İzmir. Thus, we will ensure that every child in İzmir fulfills their longing for bicycle through BİSİM and at the same time spreads the bicycle culture in our city from childhood. We will open 5 more stations until the end of the year. Thus, we will continue to serve the people of İzmir with the number of BİSİM stations to 60, the number of bicycles to 650, and 120 tandem bicycles and 120 children's bicycles. We think that İzmir has tremendous advantages in terms of bicycle transportation thanks to the bicycle path that surrounds the bay, the bicycle paths we continue to open in important points of the city, its climate and geographical conditions. Our main goal is; To ensure that bicycle use is widespread not only for hobby and sports purposes, but also for transportation purposes throughout İzmir. We know from the developed cities of the world that when the infrastructure is established, bicycle transportation can be used as a multi-functional transportation vehicle that saves energy, does not create a traffic load that is low in cost, does not harm the nature and the environment, and at the same time adds health and well-being to its users.

Bikes from the newly opened Uğur Mumcu Monument, Ahmet Piriştina Recreation Area, Güzelbahçe Port bike stations can be rented with the BİSİM application, which can be downloaded to smartphones. This system will be used in all BİSİM stations in a short time.

Target 60 stations

IZULAŞ General Directorate aims to open five more stations by the end of the year. Thus, the number of BİSİM stations will reach 60; It will be served with 650 singles, 120 tandem (double) bicycles and 120 children's bicycles.

2,5 million rentals

The BİSİM application, which has been rented 18 million since its commissioning on January 2014, 2,5, has 373 thousand members. The rental system works with BİSİM Member Card, credit card or İzmirim Card.
