Philips, one of the leading companies in health technologies, results from the 6th annual sleep survey Solution Ways: How COVID-19 Changed the Sleep Pattern of the Whole World explained with a report titled.

According to the research done; 70% of respondents have experienced one or more new sleep patterns since the onset of COVID-19.

58% of respondents are willing to use the tele-health system to deal with their sleep-related concerns.

About a year after the onset of COVID-19, Philips surveyed 13 adults from 13.000 countries to identify attitudes, perceptions and behaviors related to sleep. The survey reveals that 19% of respondents have experienced one or more new problems with their sleep patterns since the onset of COVID-70. 60% of the participants state that COVID-19 directly affects sleep quality.

The survey indicates that these difficulties are widespread and that sleep apnea patients are negatively affected by this situation. To tackle these challenges, there is a strong interest in telehealth technologies, online information sources and lifestyle changes.

More and more people are turning to online resources and telehealth services due to sleep concerns.

People who have trouble sleeping choose ways to combat this problem, such as relaxing music, meditation, or reading. 34% of respondents prioritize online research to learn more about treatments to improve sleep quality. Confidence in tele-health systems appears to have increased during the COVID-19 period.

58% of respondents state that they are willing to seek help from experts for their sleep-related concerns in the future through tele-health systems. 70% of respondents think it will be difficult to find a sleep specialist online or through phone-based programs.

Sleep apnea patients have problems with CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) treatment during COVID-19 process

According to the research; sleep apnea continues to affect sleep quality, with a worldwide increase compared to last year (2020: 9%, 2021: 12%). While Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) is the most widely used treatment for sleep apnea, this year's survey shows that there is a decrease in the proportion of sleep apnea patients using CPAP (2020: 36%, 2021: 18%) and the proportion of patients who were prescribed CPAP treatment and never used this treatment. reveals an increase (2020: 10%, 2021: 16%).

55% of respondents who said they abandoned CPAP therapy due to financial difficulties (44%), limited access to resources (19%) or other reasons related to COVID-72 state that COVID-19 is a prohibitive factor in their CPAP treatment.
