The construction of the Black Sea Coastal Road, starting from Samsun, eased the road transportation of Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize and Artvin provinces and brought vitality to the region in terms of both trade and tourism. The Black Sea provinces are transported to Ankara, the capital city, via Çorum, and to Istanbul via Merzifon-Gerede via Osmancık. The province of Çorum is already located in the Black Sea Region and especially its northern districts bear the characteristics of the "Inner Black Sea" climate and vegetation.
Çorum has been living with the dream of "railway" for more than a hundred years, and the desire and expectation of the Black Sea provinces for many years will be connected to the Sarp border gate on the Ankara-Çorum-Samsun-Ordu-Giresun-Trabzon-Rize route and will reach Azerbaijan from Georgia. fast Train and freight line ... in this case, Ankara will extend from the second half of the 21st century the Caucasus and Central Asia will be brought into Turkey for a railway line to kucaklaştır history of the Turkish republic.
However, in response to this expectation of the Black Sea provinces, plans are being made for a line that will reach the Sarp border gate via Erzincan. Erzincan was highlighted as the hometown of former Transport Minister and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, and the Ankara-Yozgat-Sivas YHT line, which will connect to Erzincan in the next stage, was completed. In the calculations, this line is connected to Sarp via Sivas-Erzincan-Trabzon-Rize. So, even if the Ankara-Çorum-Samsun YHT line, whose studies and projects are continuing, is completed for a long time, the Samsun-Ordu-Giresun-Trabzon line will be disabled.
However, in order for the Black Sea Region to have complete railway transportation, the Black Sea provinces up to Trabzon should not be excluded and the YHT project that will monitor the Black Sea coast should not be left to the background. At this point, it seems obligatory for Çorum, Samsun, Ordu and Giresun and other provinces in the Inner Black Sea region to join forces and initiate joint lobbying. Because, as we mentioned at the beginning, this project is an important project that will determine the fate of the Black Sea Region in the second half of the 21st century and in the following centuries. In other words, the responsibilities of the people of the Black Sea towards their children, grandchildren and history. (Source: Çorumhaber)
