Ortahisar Platform President Solak said, “Our President, Mr.Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at the AK Party Trabzon Provincial Congress, which he attended on February 16, 2021, said 'We are completing the route studies of our Trabzon Erzincan High Speed Train project next year, and then we are starting its construction' and gave good news to our region. In addition to connecting Trabzon and our surrounding provinces with all regions of our country, it will make our city a window opening to the Caucasus through the most functional port of the region by transporting passengers and cargo from 14 countries that make up the iron Silk Road line from China to England. Based on these words of our Esteemed President, it is the expectation of the people of the region and the business world that the route surveys of the Erzincan Gümüşhane Trabzon railway line will be completed as soon as possible and the construction tender date will be announced.
"Transport costs are one of the biggest problems in this region"
Referring to the economic contributions of the railway to Trabzon, Solak said, “Trabzon Gümüşhane Erzincan railway is very important due to international competition. Trabzon Erzincan railway will facilitate the opening of the region not only to the domestic market but also to the international market. It should not be forgotten that it is not possible to meet the competition conditions with the railway to be built. At this point, transportation costs are one of the biggest problems in this region. These costs will be minimized by rail, ”he said.
In addition, Solak stated that when the train line comes to Trabzon, it is necessary to act by taking a common opinion as a result of a good determination about the location of the station on the coast.
