Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Selahattin Gürkan noted that the Tohma Bridge will facilitate the transportation between Malatya and Sivas and said, “Our bridge will be operational with the participation of our dear minister. Our President will also attend the opening of the bridge with the teleconference system. Our bridge is 16,5 meters wide, 517,5 long, and 2 thousand 700 tons of steel and 4 thousand 360 bored piles were used in its construction. Tohma Bridge is a bridge that has a strategic feature since it is on the Karakaya Dam. It is in a strategic location, especially as the transportation between Sivas and Malatya is the only artery and it is a bridge that crosses the dam. In terms of transportation artery, Sivas is in a strategic position connecting Erzincan and Erzurum, the eastern region to Malatya and connecting Malatya and other southern provinces.
