Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that with the opening of Kızılcahamam-Çerkeş Tunnel, a comfortable, fast and safe transportation opportunity has been created at the ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, noted that Kızılcahamam-Çerkeş Tunnel offers comfortable, fast and safe transportation. Minister Karaismailoğlu emphasized that the journeys that get harder in the intense winter conditions due to high altitude and slope will be provided much more safely and comfortably from now on, and said, “In our tunnel on Güvem-Çerkeş Road at the Ankara-Istanbul divide, we have a 3 thousand 600 meters main road, 2 thousand 400 meters connection road is located. Thanks to the roads and tunnels we have opened; "The travel time on the line between Çerkeş district of Çankırı and Kızılcahamam will be reduced from 15 minutes to 3 minutes."
President Erdoğan: "We only looked at our nation while executing our investments"
President Erdoğan made important statements at the opening ceremony. Noting that they continue to invest according to the needs of the nation, regardless of those who criticize all projects, President Erdoğan spoke as follows:
“This effective use of other means of transportation, from our airports to our high-speed train lines, is a result of the widespread use of our road network. Thanks to these transportation networks, all of which complement each other, we can look at our future more confidently in terms of both human development and economic infrastructure. "Are you going to land an airplane here?" they said. Look at the tunnels we dug once and say, "Are you going to make these places for potato or onion storage? they mocked. Are you going to point to the bridges we once built and 'pass sheep herds from here?' they were kidding. However, when these works were completed and put into service, we saw that those who said this first and foremost benefited from them. Just as they did to the late Menderes, the late Demirel, the late Özal, and our late Erbakan, who is now his 10th anniversary, they thought that they could turn us away with such low level harassment. But while we were planning and executing our investments, we only looked at our nation. We brought our works to our country one by one by looking at what our nation needs, what it wants and what it deserves. "

Stating that Kızılcahamam-Çerkeş Tunnel will provide significant contributions to the transportation sector in terms of time saving and safety, Karaismailoğlu said, “With the shortening of our road and becoming comfortable, our transportation sector will also reach an efficient and economical solution. Journeys, which get more difficult in intense winter conditions due to high altitude and slope, will be provided in a much safer and more comfortable way from now on. Kızılcahamam-Çerkeş road and Kızılcahamam-Çerkeş Tunnel, which we have added to our investments, will minimize the loss of life and property caused by the intensity experienced especially in the passage of heavy tonnage vehicles, ”he said.
"Çerkeş District will reach Ankara faster"
Karaismailoğlu stated that Kızılcahamam-Çerkeş Tunnel will provide convenience in the transportation of Çerkeş district of Çankırı to Ankara, the capital Ankara, and said, “The current route of 100 kilometers, together with our tunnel connecting Kızılcahamam to Çerkeş District of Çankırı and D-6 State Road When our tunnel, which we built as 2 thousand 71 meters, was put into service, it shortened 2,4 kilometers to 3,6 kilometers. We lead the way from heart to heart by crossing the unpassable mountains with tunnels, streams and valleys with bridges. I wish the Kızılcahamam Çerkeş Tunnel and its connection roads to be beneficial to all of our country, especially Ankara and Çankırı, ”he said.
