GE Renewable Energy has successfully completed the Aşağı Kaleköy Hydroelectric Power Plant, established on the Aşağı Kaleköy Dam in Bingöl. GE Renewable Energy Hydroelectric Energy Solutions supplied 155 Francis turbines with a capacity of 3 MW and related equipment to the Lower Kaleköy project.
Completed hydroelectric power plant officially started commercial operation after the grid connection was made.
Aşağı Kaleköy Project is a new and large-scale national energy infrastructure project built by GE Hydroelectric Energy Solutions with Kalehan Energy Group, following the Beyhan-1 and Yukarı Kaleköy hydroelectric power plants.
GE Renewable Energy has successfully completed the Aşağı Kaleköy Hydroelectric Power Plant, established on the Aşağı Kaleköy Dam in Bingöl. The power plant became operational at full capacity with the last 3 units connected to the grid. GE Hydroelectric Energy Solutions produced the turbines used in the power plant at its production facilities in Taubate, Brazil. The first unit was completed in May 2020. The Aşağı Kaleköy Power Plant stands out as the third project that GE has carried out with Kalehan Energy Group in the same region.
