The announcement of the Ucyol-Buca Metro Line Construction Tender to be built by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality with its own resources was published on the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Supply Portal and on the official website of the French Development Agency. With the tender announcement, the process of bidding and evaluation of bids started. The construction of the project, which will give Buca a breath, is expected to start in November at the latest.

The tender announcement for the construction of the Üçyol-Metro Line, which will be "the biggest investment in the history of İzmir" with a budget of 1 billion 70 million Euros, was published on the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Supply Portal and the official website of the French Development Agency.

For the project to be implemented by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality with its own resources, firstly, qualification certificates will be requested from the companies that apply for the job. Firms will submit their qualification documents within 60 days. Companies deemed "sufficient" as a result of the evaluation of the Tender Commission under the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Rail Systems Department, will be asked to submit their financial offers. Firms will submit their financial offers in the open tender to be held within a maximum of three weeks. At the end of the process, the company that made the lowest bid will be entitled to do the job.

The bids are planned to be opened in June, the evaluation to be completed in August, and the site delivered towards the autumn.

In the project, which will increase the public transportation comfort of Buca and its surroundings and significantly shorten the travel times, the construction works are expected to start in November at the latest and be completed within four years. The length of the line to be excavated with the deep tunnel technique will reach 13,5 kilometers. The line, which consists of 11 stations, will have Zafertepe, Bozyaka, General Asım Gündüz, Şirinyer, Buca Municipality, Butchers, Hasanağa Garden, Dokuz Eylül University, Buca Koop and Çamlıkule stations respectively.

Buca Metro is at Üçyol Station with the metro line running between Fahrettin Altay and Bornova; It will meet with İZBAN line at Şirinyer Station. Within the scope of the project, a maintenance workshop and warehouse building with an indoor area of ​​80 thousand square meters will also be built. In the two-storey building, the lower floor will be used as an overnight stay and the upper floor as a vehicle maintenance and repair floor. There will also be administrative offices and staff areas on the upper floor.

Loan on favorable terms

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and EBRD signed a loan agreement of 2019 million Euros without Treasury guarantee in December 80. Later, this amount was increased to 125 million Euros. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) made a commitment of 125 million Euros, the French Development Agency (AFD) 125 million Euros, and the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) 115 million Euros for the project. It is about to sign authorization letters with these organizations. Thus, the total of foreign loans provided without Treasury guarantee reached 490 million Euros. Under the EBRD letter of authorization, the interest rate of the project financing is EURIBOR + 3.20 percent for six months; the maturity was determined as 12 years, including a four-year grace period. Negotiations with other financing institutions are expected to match the interest rate and maturity to EBRD indicators.
