Stating that the project design work will end at the end of 2021 and the tender will be launched, İmamoğlu said: “Our second rail system line that will cross the East-West axis from one end to the other will be HIZRAY. While the average speed in metro lines in Istanbul is 35 kilometers, this speed drops to an average of 20 kilometers in the public transport system. The average speed we aim for in HIZRAY will be between 70-80 kilometers. The distance between Beylikdüzü and Sabiha Gökçen will be 1 hour. We anticipate that HIZRAY will carry 1 million passengers a day when it is put into operation. We envisage mixed models such as public-private cooperation for the financing of this line, which is estimated to be 6 billion dollars, including construction and metro vehicles. We aim to complete the 2020 project of the HIZRAY project, which we started the preliminary design and feasibility study at the end of 2021. "
