Adapazari Express calls for restarting its activities

TMMOB Kocaeli Provincial Coordination Board (HRK) Secretary Murat Kürekci asked Adapazarı Express to restart its activities with his statement.

Thousands of people using the Adapazarı Train between Adapazarı-Kocaeli-Istanbul still cannot benefit from this opportunity. Approximately 8 years ago, the Adapazarı Train between Adapazarı and Haydarpaşa was operating 7 times a day with 24 wagons and served at 31 train stations. It is known from records that 2010 passengers were transported with 120 percent capacity in 5.111.923, and 2011 passengers in 116 with 5.128.026 percent capacity. In the last period of service, the number of train wagons was reduced from 7 to 4, the number of trips from 24 to 10, and the number of train stations served from 31 to 10 (Derbent, Köseköy, Kırkikievler, Tavşancıl, Diliskelesi and most importantly Haydarpaşa train stations are still not operational). Despite the increase in population and mobility, the number of passengers has decreased significantly with the reduction of the daily passenger carrying capacity of Adapazarı Express trains (one-way) from 30.03.2020 wagons to 168 wagons (40 percent), whose service has been suspended since 76 due to pandemic reasons. used the expressions.

Kürekci said, “The local units of TMMOB and the authorities of Adapazarı Express, which has been repeatedly voiced by the people of Sakarya and Kocaeli, are still silent. This time, as citizens with our TMMOB Local units, TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. We will send our petitions to the General Directorate of Passenger Transport Department via the TCDD Corporate link, via e-mail, fax or mail. We respectfully announce to the public that we will stand behind this demand, which is more populist, reliable, comfortable and cheap ”.
