In 2020, the number of foreign tourists coming to Istanbul decreased by 66.4 percent to 5 million. Most tourists came from the Russian Federation and Germany. While the rate of foreign tourists visiting accommodation facilities decreased to 53 percent, the total overnight stay decreased by 56.7 percent. The occupancy level of the accommodation facility decreased to 24.2 percent.
