The deadline has been extended for the turn of the dolmus in ortahisar.

Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu listened to the voice of the chauffeur tradesmen in the modernization works that he carried out in order to ensure safer and more comfortable travel for the public. Understanding the state of tradesmen due to the coronavirus epidemic that has been continuing for about a year, President Zorluoğlu extended the deadline, which was set as March 1, 2021, until December 31, 2021.

Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu decided to transform for minibuses, which he thought did not provide comfortable transportation to his fellow citizens of Trabzon, and shared his project with the public at a press conference on March 2, 2020. But seen in Turkey in mid-March and he was impressed by the expired nearly a year in the shopkeepers feel the effects of the coronavirus outbreak. Chairman Zorluoğlu, who did not remain indifferent to the demands of the minibus tradesmen, met with Ömer Hakan Usta, the President of the Trabzon Chamber of Drivers and Cars, and his management today. At the meeting, where it was decided to extend the transformation works until December 31, 2021, the General Secretary of the Metropolitan Municipality Ahmet Adanur, TULAŞ General Manager Samet Ali Yıldız and the relevant department heads were also present.

WE WORK FOR A LONG TIME

Metropolitan Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu made statements informing the public about the transformation process after the meeting. President Zorluoğlu stated that the problems experienced by the tradesmen have been conveyed to him since the day he started his duty and said, “Not only the Trabzon center, but also the problems of the shopkeepers at many points were conveyed to us by both our chamber leaders and our cooperative chairmen. Starting from Ortahisar, we have tried and are trying to find a solution to the transportation issue in Akçaabat and other districts by creating a more comfortable infrastructure. In this context, we have been carrying out a work related to 729 minibuses in our Ortahisar region for a very long time, ”he said.

115 COMPLETED ITS CONVERSION

Mayor Zorluoğlu stated that they shared the solution with the public before, as a result of the agreement they reached with the Trabzon Chamber of Drivers and Automobile Owners, which are the addressees of the minibus transformation, and said, “In this context, 729 of the 40 minibuses started their activities by converting to 80 taxis. We have 689 minibuses left. In some of these minibuses, we have made UKOME decision to provide passage between stops. Of course, these studies continue on the one hand. Our citizens are currently traveling in 10-seat minibuses. According to our new decision, we increased it to 12 seats. We made a decision to make 689 minibuses more comfortable, safe, new, aesthetic and suitable for our disabled citizens. In this context, let me express with satisfaction that 115 minibuses have been transformed in line with the standards we are looking for ”.

OUR CITIZENS DELIVER THEIR SATISFACTION

President Zorluoğlu emphasized that the completion of the transformation of 689 minibuses from 115 minibuses seems to be a little at first, but considering the pandemic conditions, President Zorluoğlu said, “In this sense, I would like to thank our minibus tradesmen who put their hands under the burden. Our new minibuses were really appreciated by our citizens in terms of both their design and interior comfort, and they express their satisfaction to us from time to time in various ways, ”he said.

WE EXTENDED THE RESULT OF CONSULTATION TO DECEMBER 31, 2021

Normally Zorluoğl President stating that they aimed to complete the conversion of all filled until March, "however, Turkey and the whole world, is struggling with a large outbreak. This pandemic has adversely affected all sectors and all social segments, and continues to affect it. In this context, our minibus shop trades constitute one of the sectors most negatively affected by this process. Curfews have been imposed on weekends for a long time, they do not work. Again, due to the curfew restrictions applied after 21.00:50 in the evening, they have to end the day early. Due to the pandemic, fewer passengers feel the need for transportation than before. For this reason, it was found that the number of passengers has decreased by approximately 1 percent cumulatively in the study carried out by Trabzon Chamber of Drivers and Carriers. Our data is also close to this. Therefore, as the Metropolitan Municipality, we came together again because we are an institution that always makes decisions in consultation with the parties. March 2021, 2021 was our deadline in transformation. However, due to the pandemic conditions we have just mentioned, we made a reassessment together with our Chairman of the Chamber of Drivers and Automobile and our management. We made a decision in mutual goodwill. In line with this decision, we agreed to complete the minibus conversion in 1. In other words, we have extended the deadline, which is March 2021, 31, until December 2021, XNUMX ”.

WE BEHIND OUR PROMISE TO OUR NURSES

Stating that they want to achieve a bilateral balance, President Zorluoğlu said, “Here, our desire is to enable our citizens to travel in new, comfortable and safe minibuses, but on the other hand, to ensure that our minibus tradesmen, who have been negatively affected by this process economically, have the power to change these cars. This is a two-sided balance. We stand behind our promise to our fellow townsmen. At this point, our Driver's and Automobile Chamber has been acting with us with an understanding that puts its hands under the burden from the very beginning. I thank them too. Our head of the chamber expressed their determination to us on this issue ”.

AN EXTENSION OF THE TIME WILL NOT BE SUBJECT

Emphasizing clearly that December 31, 2021 is the deadline for the minibus transformation, Mayor Zorluoğlu said, “As long as nothing extraordinary happens, we expect our remaining minibuses to transform. At this point, we also call our minibus shop trades. Please let them make the most of this time. I would like to share with the public that there will be no extension again at the end of this period. This is the deadline. I would like to state clearly that we will not allow our tradesmen who still want to carry passengers with the old minibus after this date. But I believe that a considerable part of our tradesmen will not wait for this date. In the process, we will have completed the minibus conversion before December 31st, by making plans according to their own powers, from today to the end of the year, ”he said.

WE WILL SERVE TRABZON FOR LONG YEARS

Stating that as the Metropolitan Municipality they always give the necessary support to the minibus shopkeepers, Mayor Zorluoğlu said, “We will continue to do so from now on. I care about the culture of our citizens to go somewhere by minibus. This is a transportation model unique to Trabzon. I hope this minibus system will continue to serve Trabzon for many years in a more comfortable way. We say good luck and thank the parties again. I would like to thank the President and the management of Trabzon Chamber of Drivers and Cars. We manage this issue together with a very consensual approach and with a continuous constructive understanding. I hope we will endure all of them ”he said.

IF THE CONDITIONS ARE SUITABLE, THE PROCESS WILL BE COMPLETED

President Zorluoğlu, who also wanted not to create a false perception as if the transformation was abandoned, said, “Let me tell you that there are no misunderstandings, we have not given up on the dolmuş transformation. We have not postponed this date due to any pressure or similar problems. Everyone here should know that we had to postpone this process due to the negative effects of the pandemic process. Otherwise, if there was no pandemic, this transformation would have already taken place by now. Our minibus shop trades are already eager in this regard. We do not do anything metazori to our tradesmen. They are also aware that they cannot transport with these minibuses. And they have always been by the side of the transformation as much as they can, and they will continue to do so ”.

THANKS TO CHAIRMAN ZORLUOĞLU

On the other hand, Trabzon Chamber of Drivers and Automobile Drivers Ömer Hakan Usta stated that they have supported the minibus transformation works from the first day and said, “We are working on the minibus transformation project that we have been working on for a long time. During the process, we met with our Metropolitan Mayor many times. The contributions and efforts of our president have always been in favor of the driver trades. But at the very end of this work, the deadline was extended with the support of our President due to the pandemic in the world and in our country. I hope we will do whatever is necessary for the transformation of dolmuş until the new year. I would like to thank Mr. Murat Zorluoğlu for the support he has given us up to this time and I present my respects ”.
