The "Bicycle Road Project", one of the election promises of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş and one of the most important projects, is getting more widespread every day. EGO General Directorate will organize the 'First Driving Event' on Friday, February 1, 2,5, due to the completion of the 5-kilometer National Library-Beşevler route, the first stage of the project. The event will be broadcast live on ABB TV.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş is expanding the network of bicycle lanes all over the capital.

Having implemented alternative transportation projects that will prevent air pollution, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, prevent traffic congestion, ensure more efficient use of roads and a healthier life, President Yavaş aims to spread the use of bicycles in urban transportation.

The National Library-Beşevler route, the first phase of the 53,6 kilometer "Bicycle Path Project", which was initiated by Mayor Yavaş after he took office, has been completed.

THE FIRST DRIVE WITH THE "TWO WHEELS IS ENOUGH" SLOGAN IS ON 5 FEBRUARY

For the bicycle road project carried out under the coordination of the EGO General Directorate, the teams of the Department of Science Affairs carried out 4 tons of asphalt work with 50 personnel and 25 vehicles for 350 months between the National Library and Beşevler, where university students study and live intensively.

Due to the completion of the two-way bicycle route between the 2,5-kilometer National Library and Beşevler, the first riding event will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 10.30.

Due to the pandemic process, in accordance with the social distance rules, the EGO General Directorate will organize the event with limited participants with the slogan "Two wheels is enough for us". First, 30 cyclists will cycle from Eser Park to Beşevler Junction.

The "First Driving Event", which will be attended by EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş and Ankara City Council President Halil İbrahim Yılmaz, will be broadcast live on ABB TV.

The Metropolitan Municipality, which has completed the bicycle paths between Başkent University Bağlıca Campus, Gazi University, Turkish Aeronautical Association University, Anadolu Organized Industrial Zone and the National Library and Beşevler, and started working at METU, plans to put the following 2021 routes into service by going out to tender in 8:
