A statement was made by the Governorship of Istanbul regarding the opening of schools. In the statement, it was stated that “Necessary steps will be taken by our Sanitation Boards according to the rules determined regarding the risk group level declared in each province within the framework of the decisions taken in the Presidential Cabinet on Monday, March 1, 2021”.

The statement made by the Governorship is as follows: “It is known to the public that a new process will be entered after March 1 within the scope of combating the coronavirus epidemic and that the course of the epidemic will be followed on a provincial basis and the measures to be implemented will be determined accordingly. In this context, within the framework of the evaluation made according to the criteria determined by the Ministry of Health and the Coronavirus Scientific Committee, it is evaluated that 4 different risk groups (low, medium, high, very high) can be determined and the measures to be applied according to these risk groups can be decided in the Presidential Cabinet. In the circular of the Ministry of Interior dated February 26, it was stated that the existing measures should continue to be implemented until new decisions are taken in the cabinet that will convene on March 1 under the chairmanship of our President.

At the cabinet meeting, the regulations for education and training will also be determined according to 4 different risk levels, therefore, the current practice on Monday, March 1, 2021 (public and private primary schools in villages and sparsely populated settlements in all primary schools that have been implementing a combined classroom practice since February 15, 5 days a week, face-to-face education at all levels of secondary schools and imam hatip secondary schools and in all independent official kindergartens and special education kindergartens and private pre-school education institutions, optional support for 22th and 8th grade students and graduates since 12 January and training courses will be continued face-to-face, and within the framework of the decisions taken, the new implementation will be started on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Necessary steps will be taken by our Sanitation Boards according to the rules determined regarding the risk group level declared in each province within the framework of the decisions taken in the Presidential Cabinet on Monday, March 1, 2021.
