EGO General Directorate started the software renewal works of the signaling system, which has been used for 6 years, under the coordination of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, in order to provide more comfortable, safe and fast transportation to the citizens on the OSB Törekent Koru Metro line.

Stating that the studies are planned to be completed on the weekend, EGO announced that if various unforeseen negative situations occur, a separate planning is made to provide transportation by buses. The software renewal studies aiming to shorten the travel time by increasing the current train speed from a maximum of 70 kilometers to 80 kilometers per hour are carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. The first test runs of the software renewal studies were made on 30 January, but some problems were encountered in terms of system safety and passenger safety. Therefore, the transition to the next generation signaling system software was delayed in order to complete the shortcomings.

The relevant contractor company has reported that these deficiencies have been corrected and this has been confirmed by all relevant parties, especially the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

Planning was made on Saturday, February 06, 2021 and on Sunday, February 07, 2021, which coincides with the curfews on the weekend for the new generation signaling system software to be installed on the system and trains in the fleet.

All necessary measures have been taken by the General Directorate of EGO in order to complete the work on time and to operate the commercial services smoothly on Monday, February 08, 2021. In the event of various unforeseen negative situations during the study, a separate planning was made to provide transportation by buses. Developments will be shared with our citizens.
