The rails of the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou intercity railway line began to be laid on February 1, 2021.

China's first high-speed train (YHT) project under private equity control. This investment is one of eight high-speed train line projects financed through a public-private partnership.

The railway line in question required a total investment of 44,9 billion yuan (about $ 6,95 billion). The line, which starts from Hangzhou in East China and passes through Shaoxing and Taizhou in the same province and is 266,9 kilometers long, is designed for high-speed trains that travel at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. This important project, which will contribute to the goal of further stimulating the regional integrated development of the Yangtze Delta, will also shorten the travel time between Hangzhou and Taizhou by half and reduce it to about an hour.
