Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, came to Çorum for a series of visits and examinations. Karaismailoğlu, who visited the Kırkdilim Tunnel Construction Site and received a briefing, attended the Kırkdilim Tunnels T2 Tunnel Light Sight Ceremony.

Speaking at the “T2 Tunnel” light-seeing ceremony in Kırkdilim Crossing, Minister Karaismailoğlu emphasized that Kırkdilim Crossing Project is a project that will further strengthen the position of Çorum, the gateway of the Black Sea Region to Central Anatolia.

Karaismailoğlu said, “We have spent 2003 billion 5 million lira for Çorum's transportation and communication infrastructure since 274. While there were only 2003 kilometers of divided roads in 59, we increased the length of the divided road by 5 times to 356 kilometers. We increased the bituminous hot coating road length to 406 kilometers. Between the years 2003-2020; We finished Samsun-Ankara Road, North Tetek Axis, Çorum-Sungurlu separation Alaca Çorum-Yozgat road, Alaca entrance, İskilip city pass, İskilip-Çankırı road and Saraydüzü-Kargı roads. "We connected Çorum with divided roads to Samsun, Kırıkkale, Amasya, Yozgat and Sinop."

"It forms an important part of the north-south axis reaching the Mediterranean"

Reminding that there are 2 highway projects with a project cost of 985 billion 12 million as of today, Minister Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:

“One of them, of course, is the Kırkdilim Crossing we are currently in. Kırkdilim Pass, located on Çorum-Lachin Road, connects Çorum to Osmancık, Dodurga, Lachin and Kargı districts, at the same time starting from Sinop and reaching the Mediterranean through Boyabat, Kargı, Osmancık, Çorum, Yozgat, Kayseri, Niğde constitutes an important part of its axle. It is a really important project for Çorum, which is the gateway of the Black Sea Region to Central Anatolia. It is a known fact that various problems have been experienced in the operation of the project route, which is located in the mountainous part between Lachin and Kırkdilim, due to reasons such as landslides and rock falls.

"Travels between steep cliffs and cliffs in Kırkdilim will be a thing of the past"

Minister Karaismaioğlu stated that there are 8,6 tunnels with a total length of 2 × 4.099 meters, 3 level crossings and 3 underpasses within the project, which is designed as a 2 kilometers long divided road.

“If we consider 4099 meters double tube, we are talking about 8.2 kilometers of tunnel length. In Kırkdilim, which takes its name from the 1 bends on the route with T2, T3 and T40 tunnels, travels, most of which are between steep cliffs and cliffs, will be a thing of the past. Excavation works of our 553 meters long T3 tunnel have been completed and a great progress has been made in the final lining concrete works. The final coating concrete fabrication in the left tube has been completed, 775 meters progress has been achieved in the right tube. Progress has been made in supporting the excavation of 389 meters in the left tube and 1 meters in the right tube in the 563 meters long T722 tunnel.

"With the completion of the project, there will be great savings in fuel and time"

Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that they have completed the excavation works in the T157 tunnel with a length of 2 meters and that the final coating will be started in the Sol tube. Karaismailoğlu, stating that the life and property safety of citizens and drivers traveling on the current route will be provided when the project is completed, continued:

“With the completion of the project, physical and geometric standards will rise, the road will be overcome easily, and great savings in fuel and time will be achieved. The light visible at the end of our Kırkdilim Tunnel is extremely meaningful. It expresses how bright the future of Çorum is on the road to a strong development and a brighter future in every aspect. With the completion of our project and many more steps, we will make Çorum attain the quality of life it deserves. "

Minister Karaismailoğlu will also make observations at İskilip Junction and Hospital Crossroad after Kırkdilim Tunnels T2 Tunnel Light Sight Ceremony. Karaismailoğlu, within the scope of his visit to Çorum; He will visit Çorum Branch Chief of Highways, Çorum Governorship, AK Party Çorum Provincial Presidency and Çorum Municipality.
