Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and General Manager of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu paid a visit to the city on Friday, February 26 to examine the ongoing transportation investments in Zonguldak.

Stating that the divided road network of 6 thousand 101 km in the last nineteen years has exceeded 28 thousand 200 km, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “We have increased our highway network, which is one thousand 714 km, to 3 thousand 523 km. We built 389 bridges with a total length of 3 kilometers. If we count our viaducts, the total number reaches 469 and the length reaches 9 kilometers. We have increased the number of tunnels from 436 to 700 by establishing the safety of life and property of our people by crossing the unpassable mountains with tunnels and deep valleys with viaducts. We increased our tunnel length from 83 km to 435 km. " said.
Karaismailoğlu stated that there are 2 bridged crossroads and 13 double-tube tunnels within the scope of the project; He added that the completed tunnels were Aslankayası, Mithatpaşa-1 and Mithatpaşa-2, and that the work on the T-0 Tunnel is continuing and this important project, which also concerns the urban traffic of Zonguldak, will be put into service in 2025.
