A new line will be added to Boeing's converted cargo plane manufacturing facility in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, China, according to the statement released by Boeing China.
New production line, Boeing and Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co. (GAMECO) to form the third production line in Guangzhou. This aircraft conversion line aims to respond to the increase in demand for cargo aircraft due to the booming express delivery and e-commerce sectors in the country.
Boeing started the project in question only in China in 2016. The facility has received more than 150 orders since then. GAMECO, China Southern Airlines Co. and Hong Kong company Hutchison Whampoa (China) Ltd. GAMECO operates as a company specializing in the maintenance, repair and overhaul processes of aircraft and aircraft parts.
