The details of the support package applicable to the operators for the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) and all airports affected by the Covid-19 outbreak have been announced by the Ministry of Transport and State Airports Authority (DHMİ).

DHMI gave Istanbul Airport operator IGA an additional 19-year operating period by accepting the Covid-2 outbreak as force majeure. It also postponed the lease payments together with the interest to 2024.

In addition, it was learned that the missing part of the 2020 million Euro passenger income guarantee fee given to IGA, the company of Kalyon, Cengiz, Limak and Mapa consortium for 333,8, will not be paid this year after the supports provided.  Istanbul Airport is estimated to have lost passengers due to Covid-19, serving 2020 million passengers in 23,4 and earning a passenger service revenue of approximately 190 million Euros.

On the other hand, TAV Airports Holding had previously announced that the two-year extension and lease payments for the Antalya, Ankara, Gazipaşa-Alanya, İzmir and Milas-Bodrum airports it operates were postponed to 2024.

DHMİ evaluated the epidemic as force majeure and decided to support it under the same conditions for all airports operating in various locations. Accordingly, an additional 2-year operating period was given to all squares and lease payments were postponed by 2024.
