İzmir Metropolitan Municipality launched the Child and Youth Center (ÇOGEM) in Uzundere for all groups affected by the earthquake. In the center, which will contribute to the psychosocial development of children and young people in the earthquake, trainings and psychological counseling services will be provided for adults.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues to support citizens affected by the October 30 earthquake. The Metropolitan Municipality, which places earthquake victims in its own homes in Uzundere, has opened a Child and Youth Center (ÇOGEM) in the region to contribute to the psychosocial development of children and young people affected by the earthquake.

Coordination is carried out by the Family and Child Services Branch Directorate of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Social Projects Department, and weekly training and workshops for pre-school, school age and adults will be held, and psychological counseling services will be provided.

Film screenings will be held

Psychologists, psychological counselors, child development guides and physical education teachers will give trainings in the center to improve the cognitive, social, emotional and motor and language skills of preschool children. "Gymnastics Workshop", "Toy Puppet Workshop", "Socks Puppet", "Fairy Tale Workshop" and "Hobby Workshop" will start in February. There will also be two workshops for primary and secondary school students, titled "Photography" and "Small Cooperative's Diary". In the center, public health trainings for adults by the experts of the Metropolitan Municipality Department of Public Health, trainings to protect their children and psychological counseling services will be provided by the experts of the Children's Rights Unit. In addition, movie screenings will be organized for preschool and school age children.

There is also an EBA class

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality allocated 224 houses under its own ownership to earthquake victims for one-year use in Uzundere. Earthquake victims who stay in the apartments, where all kinds of needs from white goods to furniture are met, will be able to take the furniture and white goods with them while leaving the residences. The electricity, water, fuel bills and common expenses of the apartments will also be paid by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for a year. Providing shopping card, hygiene and food package support to earthquake victims in Uzundere, Büyükşehir has also created an "EBA class" and provided tablet support for children receiving distance education.
