Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli and Minister of Environment and Urbanization Murat Kurum made examinations at the Yusufeli Dam site, which is under construction on the Artvin Çoruh River. Minister Karaismailoğlu made a statement to the press at Artvin Yusufeli Dam Construction Site, one of the most important projects of our country.
"We are building a 69-kilometer road"
Stating that the productions of the project are about to be completed, Minister Karaismailoğlu announced that electromechanical works will be started soon.
Karaismailoğlu said: “Today we are at Artvin Yusufeli Dam Construction Site, one of the most important projects of our country. We have been here since the early hours of the day. We held a coordination meeting with our ministers. We are in an effort to bring such a big project to our country as soon as possible. We are building a 69-kilometer road due to the affected roads in Yusufeli Dam. 69 kilometers of these 56 kilometers are built as tunnels. We will start electromechanical works soon. By the summer, all our works in the tunnels will be finished "
"Production continues on 4 specially designed bridges"
Reminding that there are 56 bridges in addition to the construction of the 21-kilometer tunnel, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that the work continues there as well.
Karaismailoğlu said, “Manufacturing continues on 4 specially designed bridges. We aim to complete this in 2021. You can understand the size and importance of the project from the size of the roads. I just want to give an example; In 2002, Turkey was the length of all tunnels across 50 kilometers. We are currently building a 56-kilometer tunnel around the Yusufeli Dam. Transportation investments will end as soon as possible. We will bring the dam to an important level and start keeping water within the year, ”he said.

Following their inspections in the Yusufeli Dam site, Minister Karaismailoğlu, Minister Institution and Minister Pakdemirli made examinations in the new settlement area of Artvin Yusufeli and visited Artvin Yusufeli Municipality and Yusufeli Mukhtars Association.
