Tunnel excavation works are carried out at the last 130 meters of the 296-meter closed section at the Karamürsel City Square Bridge Interchange built by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality to the Karamürsel crossing of the D-100 Highway. At the Karamürsel Bridge Crossroad, where raft foundation manufacturing has started, curtain and forose concrete construction continues. While the insulation material inside the tunnel continues to be laid, the construction of guardrails at the tunnel entrance and exit has been completed.

348 BEAMS TO BE MOUNTED

Karamürsel City Square Bridge Junction, which is the longest tunnel after Kocaeli's Seka Tunnel, has a 19 meter wide and 296 meter closed section. After the completion of the remaining 100-meter closed section tunnel excavation works, the top of the tunnel will be covered with 348 prestressed beams. Beam assemblies will begin as soon as the foundation excavation work is completed. During the excavations carried out for tunnel construction, 100 thousand cubic meters of approximately 10 thousand trucks of excavation were excavated.

803 BORED PILES PULLED

The Karamürsel crossing of the D-130 Highway is one of the important routes of intercity passenger and logistics transportation. In this context, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality is working hard to bring a giant project to the region. 803 bored piles were driven in the Karamürsel City Square Köprülü Junction, built by the Metropolitan Municipality. The tunnel, which has a 19 meter wide and 296 meter closed section, will be covered with 348 prestressed beams.

TRANSPORTATION TO COMFORT

With the completion of the works, intercity transportation will be relieved as well as urban traffic in Karamürsel, which is one of the important routes of intercity passenger and logistics transportation. Due to transit traffic, in the area where vehicle traffic was experienced at the center lights, they had to wait a long time at the lights. There were long queues at the entrances and exits of the city. As the transit traffic will be taken underground, it will be possible to enter and exit the Karamürsel center safely and quickly from the top.
