Chinese President Xi Jinping examined the preparations for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Winter Games and received information from the authorities.
Xi Jinping visited the Beijing Capital Gymnasium in the capital's Haidian district and the National Ski Resort and National Sled Center in the Yanqing district.
During his examinations, Xi Jinping met with the authorities of the centers as well as the athletes and trainers, and received information about the construction and preparation processes of the sports facilities and the preparations of the athletes for the competitions. The capital Beijing will organize the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and the Paralympic Winter Games together with the city of Zhangjiakou in Hebei province. Beijing, where the Summer Olympic Games were held in 2008, will be the first city to host both the Summer Olympics and the Winter Olympics.
