88 kilograms of cocaine were seized in the secret compartments of the two containers found risky in the operation carried out by the Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Commerce in Ambarlı Port.

The containers that came to the responsibility area were analyzed by the teams of Istanbul Customs Enforcement, Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate and those at risk in terms of drug trafficking were determined.

Containers coming from South American countries with a banana load were shipped to the x-ray scanning device. Containers with suspicious concentrations on X-ray scanning were also checked with narcotic detector dogs. When the detector dogs reacted to the parts of these containers where the suspicious density was detected, these sections were removed and searched.

It was determined that a secret compartment was created behind the inner wall of the first container detected. When the compartment in question was opened, it was found that the brown and black colored packages were hidden. The substance in these packages was determined to be cocaine in the analysis made with a drug test device. In this compartment, cocaine worth 49 million lira, weighing 60 kilograms, was seized in a total of 45 packages.

In the second container, it was found that drug smugglers were hiding drugs inside the cooling device on the outer wall of the container. In the search made in two separate compartments where the cooler engine was located, drugs worth 25 million lira worth of 28 kilograms were seized in 20 packages.

The investigation into a total of 88 kilograms of cocaine-type drugs seized as a result of the successful operation is continuing before the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
