The Opening of Kömürhan Bridge Connection Tunnel and Road Completed

Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, opened the Kömürhan Bridge, Connection Tunnel and road on the D-300 state road, which connects Elazığ and Malatya provinces, where President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also participated by video conference method.

Karaismailoğlu said, “Kömürhan Bridge and Tunnel is one of our projects that are a source of pride for all of us. "Our project will make significant contributions to the production, trade, tourism and culture of the region by integrating 16 provinces, especially Elazig and Malatya."

Stating that the works are continuing with great speed and meticulousness to create an infrastructure that will carry the country to the future with all transportation modes, Minister Karaismailoğlu said that investments will continue to increase in 2021.

Karaismailoğlu continued his explanations as follows: “With the roads, bridges and tunnels we have built, we are working to add abundance to the abundance of our people, to prepare the ground for new investments that will increase business opportunities, and to shoulder the trade of our farmers and industrialists. Kömürhan Bridge and Kömürhan Tunnel, which we open today, are just one of the works we have built in every corner of the country with this determination. "

“Our project, which has a total length of 5 thousand 155 meters, includes the 660 meter long Kömürhan Bridge, 2 thousand 400 meter double tube Kömürhan Tunnel and 123 meter double bridge. Our Kömürhan Bridge is designed as a 2 × 2 lane, inverted Y-type tower, and has been manufactured as a 168,5 meter single pylon. The 7 thousand tons of steel used on the bridge is equal to the amount of steel used in the Eiffel Tower. Our bridge, whose middle span consists of 25 steel segments, has been planned as a stretched inclined hanger and 42 cables have been manufactured. The steel cable length is 853 kilometers, the steel wire length is 6 thousand km. Our Kömürhan Tunnel has been completed with 2.400 meters and double tubes. "

Stating that the transportation in the region will now be done in a safer and more comfortable way, Minister Karaismailoğlu pointed out that the Bridge and Tunnel are equipped with smart transportation systems; noted the following:
