Mansur Yavaş, Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, keeps his promise to the citizens of the capital that the rail system network will be expanded. Stating that he wanted to finish the Dikimevi-Natoyolu Light Rail System line in his period, Mayor Yavaş announced that the first drilling works of the line started through his social media accounts. Mayor Yavaş said, “We are taking a new step in our rail systems project that will connect Mamak to the ANKARAY line between AŞTİ and Dikimevi. "We started the ground survey drilling works of our project, which consists of approximately 7,4 kilometers and 8 stations."
Mansur Yavaş, Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, accelerated the studies for the expansion of the rail system network in order to increase the use of public transportation vehicles in the capital.
Sharing the latest information on metro works at the Metropolitan Municipality Council meeting in January, Mayor Yavaş said, "We foresee that 7.4 stations of the 4 km subway will be put into operation within the technical possibilities and to complete the remaining stations within the project period."
Completing the necessary applications on 24 August 2020 for the project to be included in the investment program and on 22 December 2020 for the EIA report, EGO General Directorate took one more step within the scope of the project service procurement work of the Dikimevi-Natoyolu line for ground drilling works took action.

Announcing that the ground surveys have started, Mayor Yavaş stated that after the first stage, the second stage will be passed, and said, "We will proceed to the construction tender stage after the approval process based on field data."
The process of approving the projects and specifications by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure will begin after the final projects for implementation are prepared by obtaining field data for the construction of station and line projects. The General Directorate of EGO will clarify the final implementation stages of the project after all stages and start the construction tender process.
24 DRILLING POINTS DETERMINED FOR NEW LINE STATION STRUCTURES
Within the scope of the "Final Design Work for the A1 Line (ANKARAY) Dikimevi-Natoyolu Rail System Extension Line", the new line of approximately 7,4 kilometers will consist of 8 separate stations.
The construction process and method on which alternatives are studied will be clarified after the completion of the project work.
While the ground survey and drilling work started on January 13, 2021 for the preparation of the route and station projects, 24 drilling points were determined for the station structures. Mehmet Onur Kırık, Head of Transportation Planning and Rail Systems Department Construction Monitoring Branch Manager, who examined the ground survey drilling works on-site, on the route, where drilling work is planned to be carried out at depths varying between 250-20 meters every 65 meters, gave the following information:
“Within the scope of Planting House-Natoyolu project service procurement for ANKARAY extension line, the first drilling works started. Our project will consist of 8 stations from Dikimevi to Natoyolu and approximately 7,4 kilometers. Route locations and station locations were determined. Thus, our project will progress faster and we will continue our work to start the construction work as soon as possible. "
