Anchovy fishing for commercial purposes was stopped in the Bosphorus and a large part of the Black Sea for 08 days from January 2021, 18 until January 2021, 10, by the General Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

According to this evaluation; It has been determined that a large part of the anchovies found in the territorial waters of our country of the Black Sea are still below the catchable minimum length and there is no increase in meat yield. In addition, other than the existing anchovy flocks, there were no other flocks that meet the minimum catch length and meat yield criteria.

Therefore;

The period of stopping of commercial anchovy fishing with all kinds of fishing gear in our territorial waters from the entire Bosphorus and the Black Sea from Kumköy Aslan Point (41 15 ′ 25.13 ”N - 29 2 ′ 58.2” E) in the Black Sea to the Georgian border 28 The date of January 2021 has been extended until 00.00.

During this period, herds of anchovy with a minimum fishing length can be hunted in areas outside the specified areas.

Our people can buy and consume the anchovies that were hunted according to the rules or the anchovies that were previously caught and kept in cold stores.

Those who sell fish that are below the legal size limit will not be allowed to be sold in the seas, especially in anchovy, landing points, wholesale and retail outlets, by making necessary controls.

The current situation will be monitored and if there is no improvement, the restriction will continue for 10 more days.
