Rail system projects in Istanbul received the largest share of 5 billion liras from the resources allocated for urban transportation by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. The largest budget in the distribution of the mega city within itself will be used in the Istanbul Airport Rail System Connection projects with 3 billion 045 million liras.
Halkalı- 1 billion 508 million TL was allocated for the Istanbul Airport Metro Line project, and 680 million 130 thousand TL for the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport Metro Line project. For the project, which is planned to be allocated 66 million 676 thousand liras for engineering-consultancy services, 790 million lira will be spent for the purchase of metro vehicles. 670 million lira of the amount determined for this purchase will be provided by foreign credit.
Another big project in Istanbul was Başakşehir-Kayaşehir Metro Line, which was allocated 845 million 95 thousand liras.
A resource of 785 million 473 thousand TL was allocated for the Bakırköy-Bahçelievler-Kirazlı Metro Line project and 331 million 516 thousand TL for the connections of the Sabiha Gökçen Airport metro line.
