Pointing out that the vocational qualification certificate provides various benefits for both employees and employers, Minister Selçuk said, “In terms of certificate holders, it proves that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform a certain profession. Thus, it makes it easier for them to find a job if they are looking for a job and to advance their career if they are still working. For the employers, the professional competence certificate ensures that the employees catch the current standards in the sector and are aware of good practices. This increases efficiency, ”he said.

Emphasizing that the vocational qualification system is very important in developed industrial countries in the world, Minister Selçuk said, “Qualified workforce with Professional Competence Certificate contributes to employment in the international arena in various countries of the world, especially in EU countries. In this context, we started to issue Vocational Qualification Certificates in 6 languages: Turkish-English, Turkish-French, Turkish-German, Turkish-Russian, Turkish-Spanish and Turkish-Arabic. Thus, we have made the Professional Qualification Certificate the license for the employment of our qualified workforce abroad. In this context, Turkey Qualifications Framework by creating our've brought into line with the European Qualifications Framework. Turkey Qualifications Framework, approved by the European Commission in 2017 was adopted. Thus, our country has become one of the 8 countries that form their own competence framework in Europe. "Vocational Qualification Certificate is our only national certificate that is valid in Europe."

Emphasizing that the way to become a leading country by going beyond the civilization level is to invest in people, Minister Selçuk said, “For this purpose, we are planning the qualified manpower needed in the professions of the future. We continue to work in fields such as digital forensics specialist, software engineering, mobile software development expertise, industrial robot programmer, robotic systems specialist. Constantly developing our young people, we dream of raising a growing Turkey. We invest in the qualified workforce and education needed by the sectors ”.

Minister Selçuk stated that until today, 857 national occupational standards and 509 national qualifications have come into force with the contributions of all stakeholders. Selçuk also informed that 326 professions can take exams and certification, and that 237 exam and certification institutions continue their activities in 81 provinces.

Stating that professional competence certificates were made compulsory in many dangerous and very dangerous areas in 2015, Selçuk said, “The number of dangerous and very dangerous occupations for which Vocational Competence Certificate is mandatory reached 143. We have provided 900 million lira of test and certification support to both our employees and employers in dangerous professions ”.

Minister Selçuk pointed out that the professional competence certificate in many fields such as SME consultancy, Auto dealership and real estate consultancy is made obligatory and the application is welcomed by the business world and employees, “In addition, there is demand from the business world in this direction. "This makes us very happy."

Minister Selçuk stated that we aim to increase the quality of our national qualification system with the TUYEP project launched recently and said, “Our main goal is to increase our human resources with qualified workforce with Vocational Qualification Certificate. We have used approximately 21 million Euros from EU funds so far. With this project we initiated, the organizations we provide with a grant of 17 million Euros will develop or revise national occupational standards and national qualifications ”.
