The second of the "Istanbul Barometer" survey of the IMM Istanbul Statistical Office, which takes the pulse of the city, has been published. In October, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Istanbul Statistics Office started publishing the "Istanbul Barometer" research, which takes the pulse of the people of Istanbul on many topics from domestic agenda to mood levels, from economic preferences to job satisfaction. With the Istanbul Barometer, the periodic surveys to be held with questions on the same theme every month will enable the citizens of Istanbul to analyze their thoughts on hot agenda issues, their awareness and attitude towards municipal services. “Istanbul Barometer November 2020 Report” was prepared by talking to 23 Istanbul residents over the phone between 1 November and 2020 December 850. Borrowing rate increased

The borrowing rate of the participants increased to 44 percent compared to October, and the lending rate decreased to 3,2 percent. 2,4 percent of the respondents stated that they both borrowed and lent money, and 50,4 percent said they did not do any.

The number of people who could not pay their credit card debt increased

Among the participants using credit cards, the number of those who paid the entire credit card statement decreased 36 percent compared to the previous month, the number of those who paid the minimum amount was 33,2 percent, and the number of those who never paid their credit card debt increased to 18,6 percent.

The majority cannot meet unexpected urgent needs

72,6 percent of the participants stated that they could not afford an unexpected urgent expense of one thousand TL and 87,6 percent of 5 thousand TL by their own means.

59,1 percent shop at discount stores

"Which of the outlets did you shop in November?" Where more than one answer can be selected. 59,1 percent of the participants were from discount markets, 39,2 percent from the neighborhood market, 26,5 percent from small shopkeepers, 22,2 percent from online markets, 18,8 percent from other supermarkets and 6,7 percent, XNUMX of them stated that they were shopping at shopping centers. Compared to October, while the number of shoppers from discount markets and neighborhood markets decreased, the number of shoppers from online markets increased.

Priority should be given to social aid and earthquake

49,6 percent of the participants stated that they were working. 73,7 percent of the working participants stated that they are satisfied with their job, 18,4 percent of them are not satisfied, and 28,7 percent of them are afraid of being fired.

75 percent of job seekers believe they will not find a job

While 21,6 percent of the unemployed participants stated that they were students or could not find a job, 75 percent of this group did not believe that they would find a job in the near future.

The stress level of Istanbul residents increased

Both the stress and anxiety levels of Istanbul residents increased compared to the previous month. His stress level was 10 out of 7,5 and his anxiety level was 7,1. While the average stress level of women was 8, it was seen that men were 7,1.

Life satisfaction decreased

Life satisfaction level was measured as 4,4 and happiness level as 4,7; both levels decreased compared to last month. While the average life satisfaction level of women was 4,6, it was 4,2 for men.

Loud discussion rate decreased

The proportion of participants who entered the loud debate decreased compared to October, reaching 30,4 percent; rate decreased in transportation / traffic, increased in business environment.

88,4 percent support inspection of taxis

While 88,4 percent of the participants supported IMM's implementation of inspections and criminal proceedings for taxi drivers who choose passengers based on their distance and victimize their customers, 6,5 percent stated that they did not.

62,3 percent support COVID-19 measures

In November, he said that he supported the restrictions taken by the Ministry of Internal Affairs within the scope of combating the Covid-19 outbreak by 62,3 percent and not by 33,4 percent.
