The "One Rent One Home" campaign launched by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for earthquake victims has come to an end. The lease support promised within the scope of the campaign was recorded as 42 million 649 thousand. İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer thanked everyone who participated in the campaign.
After the earthquake that shook İzmir, the “One Rent One Home” campaign, which brought together earthquake victims and those who wanted to support them, has come to an end. The lease support committed within the scope of the campaign reached 42 million 649 thousand. A total of 4 million 643 thousand TL was transferred to the families who were homeless in the earthquake by 20 thousand 510 supporters. The number of flats reported to be opened to earthquake victims reached 231. Matching between earthquake victims who want to benefit from the campaign and those who want to support them and payments of 10 thousand TL each continue.
The number of families who settled in the residences offered free of charge to earthquake victims for a year in Uzundere, Metropolitan Municipality reached 147. Earthquake victims will be able to take furniture and white goods with them as they leave the residences. Electricity, water, fuel bills and common expenses will also be paid by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for a year.
"We covered our wounds with solidarity"
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer thanked everyone who supported all the campaigns carried out by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, especially the “One Rent One Home” campaign. President Tunç Soyer said, “Solidarity and healing the wounds together alleviate the pain of disasters to a certain extent. You showed such a great example of solidarity; We wrote the history of solidarity in Izmir. Thanks to you, we did not leave any of our citizens open. We did all of these together, ”he said.
5 thousand lira support is given to medium damage
On the other hand, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality completed the rent support payment of 30 thousand lira for 629 families whose houses were moderately damaged in the 5 October earthquake. This week, rent aid for 40 families whose homes are moderately damaged will be deposited into their bank accounts. Metropolitan will continue to provide rent aid based on applications and evaluations. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer stated that for families with moderate damage, a rent support of 5 thousand TL will be given to each household from the municipal budget, and in this context, they will allocate a resource of 35 million TL. The Metropolitan, which also made a support payment of 179 thousand lira to 10 households in the heavily damaged buildings from its own budget, will also deposit the rent aid of the owner of the apartment whose 50 heavy damage was determined this week into their bank accounts.
