Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO General Directorate, “78. It celebrated its Foundation Anniversary with various activities. EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş, who participated in the event broadcast live on ABB TV, said, “We are trying to strengthen and raise EGO's capacity to do business”. Visiting citizens as well as employees took a nostalgic journey to the past by taking the 1987 model city bus brought in front of the Metropolitan Municipality.

"WE ARE TRYING TO RAISE THE EGO"
EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş, speaking at the anniversary celebration held with the City Orchestra with the mini concert given by amateur street performers, stated that they will start to provide better quality service with the purchase of new buses that will strengthen the vehicle fleet and made the following evaluations:
“EGO General Directorate was established on December 16, 1942. EGO General Directorate is a brand that has become a brand both for our Ankara and our country. For example, the first trolleybus network in Turkey are taking part for the first time in our history. Light rail system that goes under the so-called ANKARAY and Turkey's first subway was also carried out by the General Directorate of EGO. I think it is important to keep the corporate culture and memory alive. We are trying to strengthen and raise EGO's capacity to do business. Recently, the final approval of the loan for the purchase of 282 buses was made. Hopefully, we will complete our tender processes and carry the bus purchases to the final process this year. "
THE JOURNEY OF NOSTALGIA
The General Directorate of EGO brought the 1987 model old municipal bus to the Metropolitan Municipality and made a nostalgic journey to both employees and visiting citizens.
Architect Hürriyet Hızır, the Planning and Implementation Branch Manager, who has been working at the General Directorate of EGO for 40 years, gave detailed information about the history of the institution, while Özgür Demirkol explained his experiences in his professional life with the following words:
“I have been working as a driver in EGO since 2005. When I saw our nostalgia vehicles exhibited here, my old memories came to life. We have many memories in these buses. We also had difficult days, we also had memories that gave life energy. We tried to serve the citizens as much as we could. "
Musician Ender Ersan, who took the participants to the past with the concert he gave in the program, said, “I have been working as a street musician in subways for 2 years. I get very positive feedback from passengers. I am happy to be upset with people. Sometimes we witness very emotional moments. Metro is a place where we make art. Therefore, subways and people are very valuable to me. "I would also like to thank the Metropolitan Municipality for the opportunities it provides us to make music."
