The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure shared the figures of combined transportation carried out by TCDD Tasimacilik. In the statement made by the Ministry, it was reported that 2019 million tons of combined export transportation was realized in 5.1, while a total of 4.9 million tons of combined cargo was transported within the scope of imports. It was also stated that in 2019, 10 million tons of freight ship + rail and road transport was realized in total export-import.
In the statement made by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, also reminding that the Ro-Ro operations terminated at TCDD Izmir Alsancak Port were restarted with the permission of the ministry last week; announced that it is aimed to generate 2 million USD annual revenue with the resumption of transportation.
5.1 million tons of combined export shipment
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure stated that combined transportation using many transportation routes adds value to the country's economy, as well as offering cheaper and safer transportation. Within the scope of combined transportation, export cargoes coming to Mersin, İzmir, Aliağa (Biçerova), İskenderun, Payas, Sarıseki, Bandırma and Derince by rail in 2019; TCDD is exported from Alsancak ports by sea. With this combination, 2019 million tons of combined export was transported in 5.1 ”.
A total of 4.9 million tons of combined cargo was transported within the scope of imports.

Reminding that the Ro-Ro operations, which were terminated at TCDD Izmir Alsancak Port, resumed last week, it was stated that a regulation was made to support the increasing export; "With the resumption of Ro-Ro transportation, it is aimed for exporters to reach North Africa and Southern Europe with cheaper transportation costs and to earn 2 million USD annually." In the statement made by the Ministry, it also shared the information that the existing docks are suitable for serving 2 Ro-Ro ships at the same time and that sufficient vehicle stocks are ready to serve with ring road connections.
