Büyükakın Examined Kartepe Cable Car Project Route

Marmara Municipalities Union and Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Assoc. Dr. Tahir Büyükakın made an examination in the Kuzu Yayla region to see the Kartepe Cable Car Project route on site. Making a statement after the examination, Mayor Büyükakın said, “We have brought the ropeway project that Kartepe has been longing for for a long time, until the tender stage. I hope the ending point is where we are and also the place where the cable car will step on. The project of our approximately five-kilometer ropeway line has also been completed. "We go out to tender around the end of January and start working," he said.

Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Balamir Gündoğdu, Kartepe Mayor Mustafa Kocaman, Head of Science Department Ayşegül Yalçınkaya and Park Bahçeler Department Head Cenan Turan accompanied Mayor Büyükakın during the examinations. Reviewing all the details of the project once again, Mayor Büyükakın said, “Our Park Gardens teams also plan the areas where our citizens can rest, stay, travel, walk and ski when they come to this region by cable car. I hope that when the cable car works are finished, the social facilities and outbuildings in this area will be prepared ”.

Mayor Büyükakın also gave the information that “Where the chairlift lines will be installed and our friends are working from one side” said “When this project is completed, it is clear that it will make a great contribution to the tourism of the region. I hope a much better touristic potential will be added to a tourism area like Kartepe with the cable car. In fact, it will be an extremely valuable investment for the whole of Kocaeli. We are thinking of doing it with the means of our Metropolitan Municipality. We are currently planning the operation-related process, as we will carry out the process together with our Kartepe Municipality. We are doing his work on the one hand. I hope we will bring this beautiful project to Kartepe in a period of two years ”. The cable car project, which will start from Derbent region in Kartepe district and reach the Kuzu Yayla region, will be approximately five kilometers long and will be built on 2 stations. With the line consisting of 10 cabins for 67 people in total, 1500 people can be transported per hour.
