Stating that they made a good start to this year, but all expectations changed due to the pandemic, Baran Çelik said, “Although the recovery started in June, we revised our export target to 25 billion dollars. In the first 11 months of the year, we exported 22,75 billion dollars. We think we will close this year with a figure of just over the targeted $ 25 billion. Thus, we will have reached the 15th export championship in a row, ”he said.

“Next year target; to return to pre-pandemic figures "

Stating that the production capacity of the automotive industry has exceeded 2 million units, Baran Çelik said, “Our production is 2019 million as of 1.46, and its export is 1.25 million pieces. Our supply industry exports alone are at the level of 11 billion dollars. In addition to being the third largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in Europe, our country is the 14th largest motor vehicle manufacturer in the world and the 4th in Europe. Today, the major industrial companies established in our country are constantly making new investments and increasing their production capacity with new models and projects. This situation positively reflects on the supply industry production and exports. All of these figures can be understood today to be able to export all over the world, including developed countries, particularly the automotive and supply industry with high production quality and capacity levels in Turkey. By 2021, our goal will be to rise again and return to pre-pandemic figures in all categories. We think that our activities will continue digitally in a part of 2021. However, we aim to start our face-to-face activities in 2021 according to the course of the pandemic ”.

Pekcan: "We will continue to support the automotive correctly and strategically"

In his speech, Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan said, “We provide important support to our exporters with virtual delegations and fairs supported by our Ministry. Thanks to this, our exporters had 6 thousand bilateral business meetings. Due to the pandemic, we stood by our exporters in this period, from contactless trade to easy export platforms, to Eximbank supports, and we will continue to do so. Again, as the Ministry, we aim to support companies operating in the automotive, defense, machinery and aviation sectors. 84 of the 40 projects we support are in the automotive sector. Our automotive industry, the leading sector of our exports, also increased for the first time in September and continued this increase in October and November. I believe that we will reach the desired levels as soon as possible with the relief and intense effort to be provided in foreign markets. "We will continue to support our automotive industry in the most accurate and strategic way."

TİM President İsmail Gülle said that despite the negative impact of the pandemic, exports recovered in a short time and increases such as September and October were recorded. Gülle said, “We are one of the 4 countries that increased its exports in the third quarter. We believe that we will exceed the revised figure of 2020 billion dollars for 165,9 in line with the new economic program. A 2021 percent contraction is expected in global trade for 7. Automotive is one of the sectors that will be affected by this situation. Automotive continued its acceleration in exports in November, when the market contractions started. We believe that this momentum of success will continue by creating new business opportunities and Auto Expo 2020 will empower the marketing of the automotive industry. I congratulate OIB for their success and Baran Çelik, who is valued by OIB ”.
