Ankara Metropolitan Municipality changed the name of the capital's most difficult to pronounce “Bangabandhu Sheikh Muciburrahman Boulevard” with the decision of the council. In line with the decision taken upon the intense complaints of the citizens, the new name of the boulevard, located within the borders of Çankaya district Ahmet Taner Kışlalı and Çayyolu Neighborhood, became "Bangabandhu Boulevard".

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, the new name of "Bangabandhu Sheikh Muciburrahman Boulevard", which has been used since 1997, has been "Bangabandhu Boulevard".

The name of the boulevard was changed to “Bangabandhu Boulevard” at the December meeting of the Metropolitan Municipality Council, after the citizens living in the region complained intensely for being difficult to pronounce.

PRONUNCIATION OF THE NEW NAME OF THE BULVAR IS EASIER NOW

After the approval of the governor's office, the teams of the Department of Technical Affairs Numbering Branch installed the plate bearing the new name of the boulevard in Çankaya district Ahmet Taner Kışlalı and Çayyolu District.

Tradesmen as well as residents of the neighborhood, who saw the new name of the avenue named after Bangabandhu Sheikh Muciburrahman, the founder of Bangladesh, expressed their satisfaction with the following words:

They were constantly coming to our buffet asking what it meant and why it was so long. I also came across criticisms on this subject on social media. It was a very good decision and it was good that it was short. "
