Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Bekir Pakdemirli stated that Yusufeli Dam, which is under construction, has reached a height of 260 meters and has entered the last 15 meters, and said, “When completed, it will meet the annual energy need of a city with a population of approximately 2,5 million and contribute 1 billion 500 million lira to the economy annually.
Making a statement regarding the work done in Yusufeli Dam, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. When Turkey's vision of Yusufeli Dam project is completed within 275 meters of height with a double curvature concrete arch in the category of Turkey's highest, will be the world's 3rd voiced high dam.

Pakdemirli stated that the installed power of Yusufeli Dam and HEPP facility will be 558 MW and the annual energy production will be 1 billion 888 million KWh, and stated that the concreting works in the power plant and energy structures are continuing as planned. Noting that with the completion of the dam, an annual contribution of 1 billion 500 million TL will be made to the national budget, Pakdemirli said that thanks to the project, the annual energy needs of a city with a population of approximately 2,5 million will be met.
BODY HEIGHT REACHES 260 METERS
An average of 4.400 cubic meters of concrete is poured daily in the Yusufeli Dam. The realization rate in the hull concrete was 93 percent and the dam has reached a height of 260 meters. The dam body height remained the last 15 meters in the construction.
With a body height of 275 meters of Yusufeli Dam, it is 25 meters shorter than the Eiffel Tower. The body of the dam is 100-storey skyscraper high. With 4 million cubic meters of concrete to be used in the body of Yusufeli Dam, a concrete road with a platform width of 13 meters can be built from Artvin to Edirne.
When the dam is completed it will be Turkey's highest dam with 275 meters.
FLOOD RISK WILL BE REDUCED IN ÇORUH
In addition to the energy it will produce, Yusufeli Dam will also be a water source for other dams. On the other hand, by keeping the sediment brought by the Coruh River to a significant extent, it will extend the life of other dams and reduce the risk of flooding in the Coruh River.
