Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, came to Kars today for a series of visits and openings. Reminding that over 18 billion 5 million lira has been invested in the transportation and communication infrastructure of Kars in the last 746 years, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that they increased the length of 2003 kilometers of divided roads in 22 by approximately 11 times to 258 kilometers. Karaismailoğlu said, “Only 1993 million TL was invested in Kars between 2020 and 68. We have invested 3 billion 27 million lira. We are implementing many projects in the development of railway transportation as well as in highways. We put the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway line into service, ”he said. Karaismailoğlu drew attention to the fact that there is a 258-kilometer railway network within the borders of Kars province thanks to the breakthroughs made.

Karaismailoğlu said, “Our Kars Logistics Center Project is one of them. We have come to an end in the construction of our center with a project cost of 221.8 million. Recently we will inaugurate this center, our Turkey Logistics Sector will provide 412 thousand tons carrying capacity. At the same time, 400 thousand square meters of Logistics area has been brought to our country. A 16-kilometer railway and a 5.5-kilometer junction line were built inside the Kars Logistics Center. "With the commissioning of the center, there will be serious employment opportunities." Karaismailoğlu continued his statements as follows:

“So far, we have commissioned 25 of the 11 logistics centers we have planned across the country. With the opening of all 25 logistics centers, a total of 35,6 million tons of additional transport capacity will be obtained, and a container storage and handling area of ​​12,8 million square meters will be brought to our country. With the logistic corridor approach, we strengthen our international connections and build logistics centers and new junction lines to increase the competitiveness of the railway. Our work on the construction of divided roads continues rapidly on our 20-kilometer logistics road network, which will provide fast and safe transportation to our important logistics centers, railways, airports and border gates.

After his visit to Kars Logistics Center, Minister Karaismailoğlu went to Sarıkamış to perform the official opening of the Sarıkamış-Karakurt-Horasan road, where President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will also attend with a video conference link.
