In case Ankara gives "consent", possible increased toll fees are expected to come into effect at the weekend. New tolls will be calculated according to similar parameters in the Eurasia Tunnel.

From HABERTÜRK According to the news of Olcay Aydilek: "Some projects such as Yavuz Sultan Selim-Northern Ring Motorway, Osmangazi Bridge and Gebze-Orhangazi-İzmir Highway, Eurasia Tunnel, which are publicly known as "mega", were built with the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model. The state guaranteed vehicle passage to the enterprises that undertook these projects. If the vehicle passes are below the warranty limit, the state pays the difference.

INCREASE IN TRANSITION FEES

So, how will the new tariffs be calculated? The sources stated that the US dollar buying rate determined by the Central Bank for the 2nd day of January and consumer inflation in the USA are two important determinants and that the calculation is made in the light of these data. In this direction, calculations will be finalized. Possible higher toll charges are expected to come into effect at the weekend, if Ankara gives "consent".

EURASIA TUNNEL

In the Eurasia Tunnel, the new tariffs are expected to come into effect on 1 February. In the project in question, the method of calculating the tolls is as follows:

• VEHICLE TRANSITION FEE: It's $ 4.5. The amount projected as $ 4 has increased slightly due to some of the costs raised in the project.
• USA INFLATION: The US inflation increase, the cumulative increase over a certain period (taking the last 9-10 years) are included in the calculation.
• DOLLAR EXCHANGE RATE: On January 2, 2020, the dollar rate announced by the Central Bank will be taken.
• VAT: In addition, 8 percent VAT will be added to the tolls.
